Search Spend Healthy Despite Slowing Economy – SEMPO Reports
On March 17, 2008, SEMPO (the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization) released their preliminary results of the 2007 State of the Market Survey at Search Engine Strategies New York.
According to the report, they’re bullish on the future of online marketing, noting that much of the additional funds are available due to marketers shifting from offline to online tactics. This means a boon for the online marketing industry as Search spend takes away from magazines, direct mail and newspapers.
Additional preliminary published data can be found here.
A rise in Search spend is also the result of the increasing cost of PPC and additional interest in online opportunities, such as streamlined behavioral and demographical targeting.
